										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This project has been aproved by the Ministry of Economy, under the programme &#8220;RETOS COLABORACIÓN&#8221;. Development of PVC compounds for the construction sector, using recycled material. Important goals have already been achieved.</p>
<p>This project, participated also by <em>Technological Centre Lurederra</em>, promotes the sustainability trough the use of plastics coming from end products which are in the end of their life cycle.</p>
<p>The scope is to develop new PVC recipes with recycled PVB for the construction sector, through the following approaches:</p>
<ul>
<li>To develop a new range of products, based on the use of high performance recycled materials, in order to obtain elements at a highly competitive price, surpassing commercial alternatives existing in the market, due to strong limitations in terms of low mechanical properties, no good adhesion with substrate, and with problems of cost, availability and restrictions of use.</li>
<li>To promote the recycling of PVB. Nowadays, the waste of PVB is incinerated or deposited on dumping sites. With this project, PVB becomes as a clean material, very useful for these formulations.</li>
<li>To reduce the environmental impact through the use of recycled alternatives, which could mean a reduction around 20% of greenhouse gases.</li>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p align="JUSTIFY"><strong>Development of high-sustainability vinyl compounds.</strong></p>
<p>Under the umbrella of &#8216;Iberoeka&#8217; programme for technological cooperation between Latin American companies, the BIOVIPLAS project has been created for the development of new formulations of PVC-based biocomposites. The project’s objectives are directed towards the reduction of mineral carbon content, with less dependence on fossil sources.</p>
<p>Progress on the project has enabled the development of two high-sustainability, phthalate- and heavy metal-free vinyl compounds, with a specific % of carbon obtained from renewable sources. Both PVC compounds have been registered and certified by the United States’ Department of Agriculture, in accordance with the BioPreferred ® program.</p>
<p>Cygsa currently collaborates with prestigious companies in the footwear sector on the marketing of these “eco-friendly” products.</p>

<p>As a result of the introduction of REBT-2002, the main repercussion of which was the prohibition of using PVC cables in public areas, Cygsa entered a diversification stage in order to continue providing solutions to its customers, especially those who until then had been manufacturing PVC cables and who, abruptly, were faced with a change in the law that required them to use other materials.</p>
<p>Following more than 2 years of intense work and significant investment, Cygsa extended its product portfolio through the development and implementation of a new line of halogen-free, flame retardant compounds with low smoke emissions.</p>
<p>As of this moment, the company continues to focus on diversification and the development of these products.</p>

<p>In the field of nanotechnology, Cygsa has participated in various projects in which the object of study has been on the incorporation of nano-particles in different plastic matrixes in order to obtain the improvement of certain of the material’s properties and characteristics.</p>
<p>In the area of sustainability, we have also participated in research at a European level for the development, through biotechnological processes, of plasticizers and surfactants from waste, etc.</p>
