Development of high-sustainability vinyl compounds.
Under the umbrella of ‘Iberoeka’ programme for technological cooperation between Latin American companies, the BIOVIPLAS project has been created for the development of new formulations of PVC-based biocomposites. The project’s objectives are directed towards the reduction of mineral carbon content, with less dependence on fossil sources.
Progress on the project has enabled the development of two high-sustainability, phthalate- and heavy metal-free vinyl compounds, with a specific % of carbon obtained from renewable sources. Both PVC compounds have been registered and certified by the United States’ Department of Agriculture, in accordance with the BioPreferred ® program.
Cygsa currently collaborates with prestigious companies in the footwear sector on the marketing of these “eco-friendly” products.
